Iridescent sweep border
A single rainbow arc runs the perimeter of a card on a 4.2 s lap, leaving a hairline in the panel’s own colour behind it. One conic gradient, one registered angle, no JavaScript.
Five ways to make the edge of a panel move: a rainbow arc running the perimeter, an outline that breathes to transparent, particles tracing the path and dissipating, gas clouds hugging the frame, and four neon nodes orbiting it. One shared card, five borders, each with the exact period, the path maths and a prompt that rebuilds it.

An outline that fades all the way to transparent and back on a 4.6 s breath, with the outer halo rising and falling with it. At the bottom of the breath the panel has no edge at all — only light.
Four hundred one-pixel sparks ride the outline of a card at 130 px/s, hue set by where they are rather than when they spawned, then peel outward and vanish. Press Dissipate and the whole ring leaves at once.
Four blurred clouds — violet, cyan, pink, teal — sit on the corners of a card and drift along its edges on prime-numbered periods, so the frame never repeats. The opaque panel is what crops them into a border.
Four neon lamps — green, amber, magenta, blue — orbit the outline of a card at 42 px/s, washing through a translucent panel instead of stopping at its edge. Only parts of the frame are ever lit.
